Bringing Free Healthcare to Orlando
Our student-led clinic in Orlando represents NSU Remote Area Medical’s commitment to expanding access to essential care for individuals and families who face financial or insurance barriers. Hosted in collaboration with partner organizations, this clinic provides free medical, dental, and vision services to the community.
Our Purpose
This clinic was created to address the unmet healthcare needs in the Orlando area. By bringing licensed providers and trained volunteers together under one roof, we aim to deliver compassionate, high-quality care while giving future healthcare professionals meaningful, hands-on experience.
Services Offered
The Orlando clinic brings together medical, dental, and vision professionals to offer:
- Intake, vitals, and patient navigation
- Medical screenings and basic consultations
- Dental cleanings, fillings, and extractions
- Vision exams and prescription glasses
- Health education and community resources
Services may vary depending on provider availability and clinic logistics.
Who We Serve
Our clinic is open to anyone in need of free healthcare services, especially:
- Uninsured and underinsured community members
- Individuals facing financial hardship
- Families seeking no-cost care
No insurance or documentation is required.
Volunteer Roles
Pre-health students from NSU play a key role in bringing the Orlando clinic to life. Volunteers support:
- Intake and registration
- Patient flow and logistics
- Vitals and triage assistance
- Dental and vision operations
- Set-up, breakdown, and crowd management
- Translation and community engagement
All volunteers must register with Remote Area Medical prior to participating. Some volunteers may have to complete Bloodborne Pathogen Training prior to participating.
